Everything you do makes a difference!

Employment

The most meaningful gift you can give is your time, and it doesn’t take a lot of time to make a difference! The Farmington Valley VNA offers an array of opportunities for volunteering, based entirely on your interests and availability. Whether you fold letters for an agency mailing, assist nursing staff at a Flu Shot Clinic or community event, take inventory at the Granby Food Bank, play a game of cards with a homebound patient, or spend time visiting with a hospice patient and their caregivers, your presence will enrich many lives – including your own.

Please contact us at 860-651-3539 for more information on volunteering.

Volunteer opportunities include:

Granby Food Bank: Pick up food donations from local grocery stores, manage the inventory of display of current items, and assist those who participate in the Food Bank program with their weekly grocery shopping.

Hospice: There are many ways to support terminally ill individuals and their caregivers, including friendly visits, creating and delivering bereavement baskets.

Pet Therapy: If you have a specially trained and certified pet therapy dog, please contact us for more information about joining our Hospice program’s Pet Therapy initiative.

Sewing: Work on simple sewing projects at your leisure, creating three-pocket “walker bags” that allow those who utilize walkers to carry their personal items “hands-free!”

Town Associates: Assist with agency mailings, fund-raising efforts, and community events, while representing the agency in the communities we serve.

Wellness Volunteers: Support our Community Programs staff at seasonal Flu & Pneumonia Shot Clinics, Blood Pressure Screenings, and health and wellness events.
